Detectives,

We just released a patch for MOUSE: P.I. For Hire on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox, with the Nintendo Switch 2 version to follow in the coming weeks. Patch v1.2.2 introduces a range of bug fixes and improvements, addressing gameplay, progression, stability, UI, localisation, controls/input, and other issues. Some of the fixes include correcting instances of the collectibles display shelf not properly updating after Level Revisits, pathfinding issues with the Robo-Betty boss fight, and several crashes relating to the lockpicking minigame. This patch is out now for Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Check out the full Patch Notes below! We will let you know as soon as the patch has been released for Nintendo Switch 2.

Thank you so much for your continued support, especially our recent physical launch and addition of Level Revists! We cannot wait to share more of what is to come in the future.

We are cheesed to have met you!

Gameplay and Progression

  • Fixed some instances of side quests being unable to be completed when revisiting ‘River Fever Line’, where NPC’s show ongoing dialogue but quests would not register.

  • Fixed a progression issue where certain pipes could not be interacted with after players spoke with the Old Shrew NPC in ‘The Depths’.

  • Fixed an issue where players could jump over a fence and roam freely while the camera remained active in ‘Clergy Row’.

  • Fixed a pathfinding issue with Robo-Betty where the boss became permanently stuck in a running loop, allowing players to bypass the third encounter.

  • Fixed issues with the display shelf in Jack Pepper’s office failing to properly update after collectibles were picked up during Level Revisits.

  • Fixed a blocker where rapidly accepting newspaper popups could accidentally close the shop window and lock players out of the UI, requiring a game restart.

UI and Menus

  • Fixed incorrect positioning of the ‘Exit Level’ and ‘Exit Game’ options in the pause menu.

  • Fixed instances of the ‘Exit Level’ option not being selectable in the pause menu.

Controls and Input

  • Improved key rebinding functionality across all platforms and input methods, with all actions now able to be rebound (excluding the “Use” action on controllers, which shares an input with “Reload” and cannot be rebound due to hardware limitations).

NINTENDO SWITCH 2

UI and Menus

  • Fixed an issue where labels in the Motion Sensitivity screen were incorrectly cut off.

Stability and Crashes

  • Fixed a crash that could occur when picking up the “Letter to the Dame” in ‘MANGIA & MANGIA Secret Show’.
